What's it All Mean?
This coffee from Rwanda is the latest in our Exploratorium Series in which we explore new coffees and experiment with different roast techniques. The process allows us to discover different flavor profiles out of the same coffee, striving to get the most out of the bean, highlighting the inherent qualities of the region where it was grown. For this coffee we roasted it at various temperatures, finally choosing a medium style roast that brought out the unique fruit flavors African coffees are famous for, while still leaving plenty of body and a smooth acidity. Like all coffees in this series, it's a small-batch run and supplies are limited.
Behind the Bean
These beans are grown in western Rwanda by the Misozi Kopakaki cooperative. This group of farmers comes together every year to pool their crops, resources, and knowledge to provide the best possible coffees. Their co-op is certified Fair Trade to guarantee transparency and fairness throughout the growing community.
