Ready Set started with a feeling: that first sip of coffee when everything clicks into gear. The idea to roast came over a pint in an Irish pub, in the renaissance capital of the world, Florence. Back in 2019, we were just a couple of Clevelanders roasting beans out of a garage—early mornings, loud music, chasing flavor. We moved into our roastery and cafe in Gordon Square with that same passion and a simple idea: serve great coffee, do it with care, and create a space that feels like forward motion, that feels familiar, that feels like a home away from home.

We’re proud to call Gordon Square our home. The neighborhood has always been a place where things begin—where waves of immigrants built new lives, where industry met art, and where community has always come first. This is a neighborhood shaped by movement. Detroit Shoreway has always been a crossroads of culture, work, and rest. It’s the perfect place to plant a coffee shop that’s all about what comes next and enjoying the small things in life.

We roast everything in-house, in small batches and with intention. We care about sourcing, flavor, and doing right by the people at every step. Whether you’re brewing our beans at home or stopping in for your usual, we want Ready Set to feel like your launch pad. A moment to reset. A moment to take off.
